2011 Bridal Gown Trends

Blogs and articles have been popping up all over the place, claiming to have the top trends in bridal gowns for 2011. The experts have many opinions in common, but also differ. So, we’re bringing you a list of what EVERYONE agrees on for the trends for 2011. From ruffles and flowers to color accents and bows, the romantic trend is very much alive. Below is our list, along with pictures of gowns from the store.

Essense of Australia – D1154

Fun with Flowers: Flowers are EVERYWHERE right now! Single oversize blossoms, fluttery petals, tiny blooms, and shoulder and waist flower accents are all popular trends for this year.

Mori Lee – 2102

Go Glam with Embellishments: The more shimmer, the better! Gowns for 2011 are covered in pearls, Swarovski crystals, and sequins. New twists on these trends include necklines and belts created with these fun flourishes.

Casablanca – 2004

Subtle, yet Sexy Sheer: Many dresses this year have a sheer neckline that show the sexiness of a v-neck or strapless gown, but have sheer straps or sleeves to keep it subtle. Additionally, sheer fabrics like tulle are being draped over ball gowns to give them an airy feel.

Pronovias – Fantastica

3-D Touches: Big bows are in, whether they are at the waist, back, or shoulder. Ruffles are also popular, especially in spiral form. Lastly, little layers or tiers are another way to give the texture without making the dress too overwhelming.

Ella – 5436

Go Crazy with Color: Some of the more daring brides are wearing colored dresses, but if you are traditional and looking for a little flair, colored sashes are very fashionable. Match them to your wedding colors, or wear the most popular accent color for the year – Black!

Some other trends are dresses with lace, sleeves, dots, or asymmetrical seams. The wide range of trends for this year leave a bride with lots of options – lucky you! Come in to visit the store to see the latest trends in wedding dresses for yourself!
