I recently worked with Michelle’s for a bridal fashion show, and they were wonderful! They had the event very organized and well-planned, and not to mention, brought absolutely beautiful dresses along for the show! What is one thing you wish brides would remember when it comes to their wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses?

I hope that brides will remember that shopping for their gown and their bridesmaid dresses is suppose to be fun! We want to offer our brides the best customer service out there and provide a comfortable and exciting experience as they shop for some of the most important details of their wedding. Brides should remember to always call the shop ahead of time to schedule an appointment, that way they can ensure a one-on-one experience with a professional bridal consultant. They should also remember when shopping for bridesmaid dresses that everyone has an opinion, but it is the brides that truly matters. In the end, remember to keep an open mind, plan ahead and have fun!

Michelle’s Bridal Shop is a truly unique experience for many reasons. We pride ourselves on having the best customer service, a location that offers a wide variety of styles and options and a staff that is more of a family than a job. We enjoy what we do and that shows through in our service. We have a fantastic location right off of Interstate 74 in Urbana, Illinois that has a little something for everyone. We carry bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, mother’s dresses, special occasion dresses, tuxedos, accessories and prom & pageant gowns. We strive to have a large selection of sizes in all garments and have a knowledgeable staff that can help any customer find the gown she is looking for.

What is your advice to a bride as they look for wedding and bridesmaid dresses?

Always start shopping for your wedding gown at least one year in advance if you can. Bridal gowns can take anywhere from 4-6 months to arrive in, so give yourself plenty of time. Shop for the bridesmaid dresses after the bridal gown has been determined. The bridal gown is the most important decision and all of the other details will fall into place once that has been decided. Bridesmaid dresses take 3-4 months to arrive in, so make sure you order with enough time for any alterations. Most importantly, remember to have fun! It’s a wonderful experience, enjoy every moment…you’ll only get it once!
