Hindsight is 20/20

I can tell you all of the things that I wish I had known before I became a wedding planner. Some things, people warned me about, but I just did not want to believe them. So now I want to share my experiences in hopes that they will make your day just a little more special.   Finding the right vendor is a little trickier than you think.  We are living in tough economic times and we have all felt the crunch!  It doesn’t matter what you are spending on your wedding, everyone deserves the best for their money.  So just don’t look at price, look at quality!  I have said it so many times, “someone who is invested in their trade will be invested in YOU!”  It is true hindsight is 20/20, we don’t want you to say, “I wish I knew that when I was planning my wedding.”  “An educated consumer is your best customer!”

There are hundreds of wedding vendors, so how and where do you start?   Ask!  Talk with friends who have recently been married about their experiences.  Beside the price, what did they like or dislike about who they hired.  We get most of our clients from referrals.  Check out local wedding sites like, www.weddingwire.com and www.theknot.com read the vendor reviews from your area.

Once you have gathered several vendors give them a call, if they fit into your budget make an appointment and get to know them.  After you have met with them, how do you feel?  Did you click, or not?  It is important that you feel you can honestly work with this person.  If there is a problem do you feel you could talk to them?  If you feel hesitant, remember if in doubt, Don’t!

So pay attention to details when choosing a vendor not just price!
