You have found the perfect place to host your wedding and your guest list is complete… Now its time to pick an invitation! With weddings becoming more non-traditional these days, you can be a little more creative in how you word your invitation. Choose song lyrics, a quote that holds meaning to your relationship, or design it to go with your specific theme.
There are just a few things you need to make sure you include! You will need your name and your
Fiancés name. The date, location, and time of the wedding and reception and your RSVP information.
Now here is the complicated part?! Do you have your parents included on your invitation? What if you have step parents? Have you been Married before and you are throwing your wedding out of your own pocket? Are the grooms parents hosting the wedding? Here are a few suggestions!
A great way to word your invitation when your parents are hosting your wedding is as such
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Laura Smith
If your parents are divorced the brides mother’s name should be on the first line followed by the brides father underneath.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Jones
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
request the honor of our presence
at the marriage of their Daughter
Laura Smith
If you have been married before and you along with your fiancé are hosting the wedding yourselves…
Laura Smith
and
Jacob Miller
request the honor of your presence at their marriage
If your groom’s parents are hosting the wedding, you would list his parents name as you would your parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of
Laura Smith
to their son
Jacob Miller
