Wedding Decor – It’s All in the Details

 Wedding at Allerton Park

Your wedding should be a reflection of you and your fiancé’. By including unique details your wedding will be one your guests will never forget.

The first thing to do when planning the décor of your wedding is to think about your personalities, your likes, and loves. Think about where you met, how you met, how you like to spend time together.  Include those details in everything from the invitations to the favors.

Try to pull in some interesting things from your and your fiance’s relationship. Is there a special activity you like to do together? Dancing, Golfing, or Traveling? Why not include those things in your special day.

For example, if traveling is your favorite thing to do together, use a vintage suitcase for your guests to slip your cards in.  Give them luggage tags as their favors.

Another great way to include your history is by sharing snacks made in your hometowns with your guests. For example, one couple chose for their favors, Beer Nuts from Bloomington, the groom’s hometown, and glass bottles of Dr. Pepper. The bride was from Texas where Dr. Pepper is bottled.

Scour the internet for ideas. Don’t just stick to the top wedding sites. You can find some beautiful ideas on those sites, but sometime the most unique ideas come from the most obscure places. I LOVE to look through blogs of all sorts..kids party blogs, home decor blogs, you can even find some AMAZING ideas on www.Etsy.com.

When choosing colors remember things don’t have to be matchy-matchy. They just need to compliment each other.  Here is a link to see the color trends for 2011.

One last detail you want to think about is who will be doing the decorating. There are a lot of things you can do to prepare ahead of time, but the day of your wedding you don’t want to have to worry about setting out centerpieces or lighting candles, and you don’t want your mom or friends taking care of these details either. Let your friends and family enjoy the day. Simple Elegance has packages of all sizes to help you enjoy your beautiful wedding and leave as the new MR. & MRS. not having to clean up a thing!
